Bong shapes compared
A beaker has a wide, flask-shaped base that sits firmly and is hard to knock over. We carry Phoenix Star 18-inch beakers in several designs at about ฿1,090. A recycler loops water back through a return tube during the draw and is usually used as a small dab rig, like Phoenix Star's Klein and Faberge pieces.
A freezable coil pipe has a detachable coil filled with liquid. Chill it in the freezer before use and vapor comes out cooler without any ice. Phoenix Star offers a 15-inch version with a 6-arm tree perc, plus 13-inch and 16-inch versions in boxed sets.
What a percolator does
A percolator, or perc, is a piece of glass inside the pipe that breaks vapor into many small bubbles, so it contacts more water on the way up. More perc stages mean more drag and slightly more cleaning.
In our range you will find a honeycomb disc in the Hittn 9.5-inch, a showerhead in Phoenix Star's Faberge recycler, an inline perc in the Hittn 7-inch recycler and a tree perc in the freezable coil models. If you like an open, easy pull, choose a piece with no perc or a single stage. If you like fine bubbles, pick one with a perc.
Starter sets
If you are starting from nothing, a set costs less than buying each piece separately. The Phoenix Star 10-inch Dab Starter Kit includes a banger and bowl. The 10-inch Gift Set comes with a banger, ball, dabber and carb cap. The three-piece recycler sets, 6 to 7.8 inches, include a travel case, and the seven-piece set comes in a gift box.
Before buying an extra banger or bowl later, check the joint size on the product page. 14mm is the most common size, but not every piece uses it.
Cleaning glass
Change the water every day you use it; old water smells and lets residue build up fast. For a deep clean, pour in isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt, cover the openings with your hands or rubber plugs, and shake so the salt scrubs the glass. Rinse well with warm water.
Do not pour very hot water into cold glass, and do not rinse a freezable coil in hot water straight out of the freezer. Rapid temperature changes can crack glass.
